Update on Wendy

OK, she is still looking a bit worried in some of them, but overall what a change. A clean girl (having been given a bath LOL) who already looks better with 5 days of food inside her! As I said when I called, she has been checked by the vet, and overall she is in good health. Without man-handling her too much due to her condition, the vet guesstimates her at being about 4 years old. She weighed in on Tuesday at 16kgs, and the vet thinks she should weigh more like 25 kgs. Her tail has been broken at some time, but as it is healed and she can still wag it fine, that shouldn't be a problem. She has got ear mites which is no surprise. The vet thinks she has had pups at some time, but unsure if she has been spayed or not, as there does appear to be a scar on her tummy, but that of course might have been for other than spaying. Anyway, she has been wormed and treated for ear mites, and the vet has asked to see her again in a fortnight. If she is improved enough at that time, he will start her vaccinations and micro-chip her. Meanwhile she is seating 4 small meals a day very enthusiastically; has already persuaded her new family that dogs should not be left alone downstairs at night; has met sons' rather exuberant 8 month Springer whom she was happy to chase around the garden; she doesn't 'do' toys as yet, but that will come. Anyway, many thanks to you and the Dog Warden for helping this girl.

Milly relaxing in her foster home.
