Bambi has had a roller coaster ride since she was found shivering on the streets. She was a very weak shy puppy with not much to say. After a day she produced the most horrendous worms we had ever seen. No wonder she felt sick. She was whisked off to the vets were she received treatment with a view to returning the morning after, which we did. Further treatment was given but we new she was heading for a downward spiral. That afternoon George took her back and then the daily struggle really started. Poor Bambi couldnt keep any food or water down. She was put on a drip and monitered carefully day by day. On the Sunday it was looking like her chances were quite slim. She simply didnt have the reserves needed. Monday morning came and there was a glimur of hope. Bambi had tried to eat a little food. She was sick but it meant she was not prepared to give up. Tuesday, she ate a little more and managed to keep some down, although she now had diarrhoea. Wednesday she was taken off the drip and although weak and skinny she decided enough was enough and it was time to stand on her own feet.
George collected her on Wednesday afternoon and took her back to her home for nursing. Day by day she grew stronger and developed her true fun loving character. She is now the most content little pup ever. Ruby the rotty thinks she is the best thing since sliced bread.
Three weeeks have past and it is time for Bambi to settle into her new forever home were she will be loved and cherished as much as she has by the staff and family of Aspen Valley.
They look forward to many visits and updates on their little friend Bambi.
